Somalia offers some of the most technologically advanced and competitively priced telecommunications and internet services in Africa. In early nineties, several telecommunication companies have been established, and significant achievements have been realized since. Since the telecom business is viable, the number of companies entering the business has been continuously increasing. Currently there are eight telecom companies across the country includingGolis, Hormuud, Nationlink, Netco, Somafone, Somtel, ,Telesom, Somalia Wireless, Sahal Telecom and others. They provide wireless and land line telephones, internet and fax services to the urban and rural people across the country. Several companies have interconnections.
