The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, officially launched the National Vision 2060. The launching ceremony was attended by some members of both Houses of Parliament, members of the Council of Ministers led by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, the Ambassadors of Türkiye and Italy, the Ambassador of the European Union, the Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Ambassador of the United States, the Regional Director of the World Bank for Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, and Uganda, the Minister of Finance of Djibouti, and business leaders led by the Chairman of the Somali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mahmoud Abdi Ali “Gabayre,” alongside members of the civil society.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia stated that Somalia has embarked on the path of progress and success, saying: “Today, we have chosen to move beyond despair and turn toward creativity and collaboration. This vision is a bridge between today and tomorrow, the legacy we leave today and the prosperity we seek for the future.”
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre also emphasized that the government, business community, and all sectors of society will work together to achieve Vision 2060, starting with the National Transformation Plan (NTP).
The Chairman of the Somali Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. “Gabayre,” stated that Somali entrepreneurs are ready to align with the National Vision by investing in industries, agricultural production, and fisheries to contribute to achieving the goals of Vision 2060.
